Took some pictures of the internals of my Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul while cleaning. Its a VOS 1958 LPR8 in bourbon burst.

Quite a scruffy setup for a £3000+ guitar – things to note are the bumble bee capacitors and the R8 stamped in the cavity wood

This is the new 2008 custom shop model in a rather fetching colour called Blue Sparke. It’s a navy blue with light metallic flakes.

The colour covers the entire guitar – front, back, back of neck and headstock.

Plays like a dream.

Here is one of the two new Les Pauls I bought last month.
Its a replica of the 1958 standard in an unusal colour called Bourbon burst.
Complete with aged metalwork and the (in)famous Bumble bee capacitors.
When I get a chance I’ll upload some sound samples. There is really a remarkable difference in the tone between this and the 2008 custom shop standard I have also purchased.
